Livestock Foundation is thrilled to support 2024 Community Grant recipient Catskills Agrarian Alliance's Food for the People Project, Farm to Pantry Program.

The Catskills Agrarian Alliance (CAA) is a food sovereignty project built from the ground up in Otsego, Schoharie, and Delaware Counties with a reach that extends across the Catskills, Hudson Valley, and into NYC. CAA establishes and manages local agricultural initiatives that help protect and promote the right of our community to access healthy, culturally appropriate, local food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods. The Food for the People Projectsʼ Farm to Pantry Program will support local and often disadvantaged farmers by subsidizing the purchase of sustainably grown, culturally appropriate foods, and organizing its free redistribution to historically underfed communities in Delaware County. Partnership and collaboration is at the heart of the project. Since 2020, CAA has collaborated with Delaware Opportunities (and their roster of pantries), Walton Central School District, Delaware Academy, numerous CSA pickup locations, and Rural Health Networkʼs prescription-program recipients.

You can help support the Catskills Agrarian Alliance by attending their annual farm fundraiser on Saturday, August 17 at Star Route Farm. Tickets are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/.../august-night-in-the-valley....
