Livestock Foundation
a non-profit 501(c)3 community organization based in Bovina, New York
The Foundation supports a series of interconnected initiatives with a focus on revitalizing and operating real property for the public benefit and sponsoring community programming to protect and promote the human, economic, and natural resources of our rural communities.
John Finn, President
Livestock Foundation fulfills a lifelong dream of mine – to preserve and empower rural communities where government or individuals cannot. Revitalizing local landmarks such as the Creamery, McPherson’s Farm, and Hilson’s Store connects modern Bovina to its historic past, and provides an opportunity to help navigate change together.
Ed Denison, Vice President
It is difficult to imagine our rural landscape without barns, traditional farm houses and livestock in meadows. The Foundation is important to our community because rural life and its history is invaluable, and merits preservation.
Steve Burnett, Director
Making our agriculture accessible to the many - to both the Prince and the Pauper - in the forms of food, experience and a community is the work of the Foundation.
Brook Denison, Director
Our landscape and rural lifestyle are unique, I am honored to be part of this team entrusted with the opportunity to work toward preserving this land, these buildings, and the agricultural culture of our county. Mountain people live a difficult life; we take joy in our work and go about it with pride and discipline. We celebrate this work.
Andrea Dowell, Executive Director
My family built our home in Delaware County because we fell in love with the beauty of its rural landscape and community. I’m thrilled to help preserve, support, and connect with this special place and the people who live here through my work with Livestock Foundation.
